The Holy Trinity of MCs Who Can't Put Out Their Album

Of course its Rakim, Raekwon and Dr. Dre.
Don't get me wrong, I love all three. Rakim is one of the most important people in hip hop. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx is one of my favorite albums and set the precedent of so many albums that would come later. Dr. Dre is one of my top ten producers, and his production is (usually) always on point.
But what the fuck? Its these dudes jobs to release fucking music and they can't. I'd be willing to give Dre a pass because he produces, but when you've been talking about an album for over 5 years, you better put some shit out. Its not like Dre has label problems, he can put out Detox whenever the fuck he wants. Don't give me that bullshit about him being a perfectionist. How long did it take Relapse to be produced? Not 5 fucking years. When you're working on the most anticipated album in the history of hip hop, and for 5 years, you should have been able to put something out by now. A single, a tracklist, anything.
I'd also be willing to give Raekwon a pass, simply because of late, he's released a shit load of songs which are supposedly on OB4CL2 and two mixtapes. It seems as though the album may actually drop August 11th. And its about fucking time. What has the Chef been doing for the last 6 years since he dropped the Lex Diamond Story? Guest appearances don't take up that much time, and I'm sure 8 Diagrams didn't either. Considering the panning the Lex Diamond Story received, it shouldn't be hard to surpass it, especially since most of the people who will check OB4CL2 didn't hear the first one. But I can understand Rae wanting to make the album loyal to the original, but I don't think fans are expecting an album that will surpass or even come close to it. I don't think anyone went to see the new Star Wars trilogy feeling it would be better than the original trilogy.
Rakim doesn't get a pass. What the fuck has he been doing. I don't even see Ra on guest appearances. He doesn't produce. He doesn't drop mixtapes. Where is the the Seventh Seal? He's been readying this shit since '02 (makes sense it was originally produced by Dr. Dre). Rakim also faces a situation similar to Raekwon's. His last album wasn't too well received, so it shouldn't be too hard to surpass. And it shouldn't be hard to surpass the 18th Letter. Just drop the shit Ra. I have a hard time believing Rakim gets fucked over by labels too. He's motherfucking Rakim Allah. The MC who changed hip hop. I'm sure if he wanted to drop an album a day, he could.

On a related note, what the fuck happened to the Nas and Damian Marley album? Its like no information exists on it past a certain point. And it was supposed to drop next Tuesday.

Too many Jay-Z dickriders and not enough critics

Anybody who knows me knows I have mixed feelings about Jay-Z. When some fucking herb who has only heard 99 Problems and Roc Boys calls him the best, I hate Hov. But when I go back and listen to 22 Two's, I love his shit again. Its a love/hate relationship. But this isn't about my eccentric taste in hip hop. This is a message to any stan who thinks D.O.A is the end of autotune.
First, let me direct you to videos of good diss songs:

Nas- Ether: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiOv37e1a7Q
Jay-Z- Takeover: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAnGnevKxJE
Canibus- 2nd Round K.O: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0h-A05AQYg
Kool Moe Dee- How Ya Like Me Now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRb9PONMeLY
BDP- The Bridge is Over: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-alEhlHSzk

The point I'm trying to make is, all of these disses tear the shit outta somebody. You know when Nas heard Takeover, he got riled up. When Hov heard Ether he shit himself. When LL heard 2nd Round K.O he did pushups and convinced his high heel wearing audience that he won that beef. Who the fuck is D.O.A intended for? You can't attack a device. That would be like getting mad at a toaster at IHOP because it burnt your toast. You can't blame the toaster. You blame the chef or some motherfucker. You gotta blame the middleman. The person who uses the device. When Hov released D.O.A, I wasn't one of the people who was shitting himself in anticipation of Takeover pt. 2- The Death of Autotune. Is he really gonna shit where he eats, considering the people who use autotune are some of his besties (Wayne and Kanye)? Exactly. Not to mention the fact that T-Pain appeared with him on stage days later. If you didn't even fucking get T-Pain mad, who in the fuck was the song aimed at?! Motherfucking Ron Brownz? Does he even have more than two fucking songs?

That leads me to the content of the song and another problem I have with Hov. He never actually says anything to offend anyone or thing (toasters or autotunes). All he is doing is fucking bragging. Whose chain are you gonna take? The person that uses autotune that is not Lil Wayne, Kanye West or T-Pain? If the song was titled "Another Bullshit Bragging Song" this whole death of autotune nonsense would never have happened, considering the content of the song has barely anything to do with autotune. If you look at the lyrics, you can cut out all the lyrics that have nothing to do with autotune and you'd be left with less than one verse actually about autotune. At least with Jocking Jay-Z you knew it was gonna be a bullshit bragging track.
I'd be willing to bet that if "your boy young Hova" released a song called "Fuck your skinny jeans" but only talked about money and bitches, his stans would be screaming that skinny jeans are dead. I'd also be willing to bet that neither Lil Wayne or Kanye or anybody else for that matter would stop rocking them. I'm not gonna go into how the song is obviously an attempt by Hov to remain relevant to the younger crowd, thats obvious. I just haven't heard anybody actually talk about what the fuck he's saying and how in his attempt to remain relevant, he is becoming fairly irrelevant. Although I'm hoping Blueprint 3 is dope.

Thanks Jay-Z, for trying to make me see things from your point of view (however tunnel visioned you may be) but if I want an autotune diss, I'll stick with Apathy's and KRS-One & Buckshot's. At least they have the balls to call out names and aren't afraid of stepping on toes. They're also not trying to appeal to every goddamn fucking hip hop fan out there. Maybe once you accept the fact that most hip hop fans are fucking retards and bounce from artist to artist like Hugh Hefner does with blond bimbos with fake tits, you'll start releasing dope shit again.

As you can see, right now I'm in the hate Jay-Z mood. It'll pass in a couple of months, but in the meantime, this will be my only post about Jay-Z (unless something substantial happens) lest I be labeled a hater or a Nas stan. Of course in that case, fuck you.

On a side note, thank the fuck Christ for Royce Da 5'9'' and his ability to murder all of Hov's beats.
